Kenya Birds & Wildlife Photo Tour – 14 Days

• 14 days of watching birds and animals through camera lens. 3 nights in Samburu national reserve , 2 nights each in amboseli & lake nakuru national park and 4 nights in maasai mara national reserve.
• Fits well for new to profession wildlife photographer as well as other family members who are not into photography.
• Amboseli national park is a water birds, big mammals and landscape picturesque at the slopes of mt Kilimanjaro.

DAY 1 : NAIROBI – SAAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

After breakfast and pre-tour briefing leave for Samburu national reserve. Driving through the central highlands comprising of the small scale farms and large tracks of pineapple and coffee plantations arriving at our lodge for lunch

Game drive in the afternoon till 1830hrs.

Well spend the next 3 nights here and the game drive should take us through the three famous national reserves namely Samburu, buffalo springs and shaba ( George and joy adamson did live here ). Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge .

DAY 2 &3 : SAMBURU/BUFFALO/SHABA NATIONAL RESERVES

Big game here includes species well restricted to the arid conditions and come to the north of equators such as gravys zebra, somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe. Generuk among large herds of elephants impalas, brights and eastern thompsons gazelles, desert warthog, beisa oryx, leopard, lion among the smaller mammals such thedwarf mongoose, striped ground asquirrel and if you are patient enough a the naked mole rat.

DAY 4 :  SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE – MT KENYA NATIONAL PARK – NARO MORU

After early morning breakfast we drive through the reserve enroute via mt kenya national park where we spend the afternoon trekking on the alpine vegetation. Leaving for the nearby lodge on the slopes.dinner and overnight at your camp/ lodge.

DAY 5 : NARO MORU – LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast take a short bird walk on the lodge compound. This may as well be a morning with sunbirds , which may include collared, northern double – collared, variable, bronze, tacazze, green-headed, almerthyst and scarlet-chested. Lunch along the way before entering the park.

The park host a great variety of mammals including the lion, leopard,black and white rhinos,large herds of of cape buffalo, common waterbuck among other herivores. The lodge where we stay is located in the hills.dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 6 : LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Spend the day birding and photographing in the park.

DAY 7 :  LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK – MAASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK RESERVE

After breakfast we will take a morning game drive and then leaving for maasai mara national reserve. Maasai mara national reserve where well spend our next 4 nights in the central park of the reserve and not far from the banks of the mara river in a luxurious tented camp. Dinner and overnight at your camp/ lodge.

DAY 8 9 & 10 : MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

From the camp, herds of large mammals may be well visible from the dining area. During the famous wildebeest migration, the big herds fill the plains and you may frequently encounter large cats such as lions, hynas, and cheetah. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 11 : MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI

We leave early with our picnic breakfast for a whole morning game drive before transferingto Nairobi. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 12 : NAIROBI – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Early morning transfer to amboseli national park, located on the leeward side of africas highest mountain the Kilimanjaro on the kenya/Tanzania border.dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 13 :AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Morning and afternoon game drive in the park. Though a relatively dry,dust and mainly open area, it collects lots of underground water from mt. Kilimanjaro hence several springs of swampy habitats of papyrus that attracts huge concentration of wildlife especially African elephants, eastern white- beared wildebeests, common zebra, common warthogs, maasai giraffe, gerenuk, impala,lesser kudu with a varietyof waterowls. Theres also the open acacia woodland and commiphora bushland around the park. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 14 : AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – NAIROBI

After an early morning breakfast game drive and later transfer to Nairobi.visit giraffe centre and a women-run kazuri beads factory and tour the factory as they make beads. In the evening or depending on your international flight we visit carnivore restaurant for dinner and transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
